Kenny Marchant supports an expansion of our college student loan program in order to allow more students affordable access to higher education. He also supports an effective accountability system for our public schools that stresses academic excellence and gives flexibility to local educators.

Energy
Kenny Marchant considers energy policy one of the most important issues of our time. Marchant supports securing a long-term energy policy that lessens our dependence on oil from foreign countries, diversifies our resources and best protects the environment. A reliable and efficient energy policy is necessary for the prosperity of our nation.

Healthcare
Kenny Marchant believes the federal government should help improve but not control the healthcare system. He supports improving the quality and access to healthcare through such measures as opening the healthcare market, offering tax credits for individuals and families and possibly creating a high-risk health insurance pool to cover the uninsured.

Immigration
Kenny Marchant firmly believes immigration reform begins with securing the borders and ports of entry through effective law enforcement, infrastructure and technology. Amnesty should not be provided to those who break the law.

Medicare/Social Security
Kenny Marchant is committed to ensuring that Medicare and Social Security remain available for all Americans. Marchant favors modernizing the systems through measures such as enhancing ownership with Social Security personal account systems and offering greater Medicare choices for seniors.

National Security & Foreign Policy
Kenny Marchant believes the security threats of the 21st century demand strong, principled and competent policy initiatives to best protect the nation. Marchant supports working with the international community to help stabilize Iraq, thwart transnational threats and promote democratization and human rights.
